What to Expect

Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the provider has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you.  Please bring a copy of your medical history and current medications. Please bring all of your topical or oral medications that you use for your skin with you.

During your exam, if suspicious areas are found, these can be biopsied the same day.  However, we may have to reschedule if there are more than three lesions to be biopsied.

New patient registration takes up to 30 to 45 minutes to enter and very insurance.  It is recommended to come to your appointment 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork.

Copays and deductibles are due at the time of service.  Most insurances now have deductibles for office visits and/or procedures.  Please be familiar with your insurance before your appointment and be aware of your copay and/or deductible.  Patients with deductibles are expected to pay for the cost of the procedure and/or visit at the time of service.

We look forward to your visit.

PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS

Please allow at least 5 business days for prior authorizations for certain medications that may require additional information. However, some systemic medications can take up to three weeks if an appeal is requested.

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS

Please request refills from your pharmacy which may take a few days to process. You must be seen within the last 12 months for most refills. For some oral medications, you must be seen within the last 6 months.

PATHOLOGY RESULTS

It can take up to 2 weeks for pathology results to return. We will call you if there is any abnormality or any result that requires discussion. You should hear from us within 10 to 12 days for results requiring discussion. We will not leave results on voicemail, but will ask you to return the call. If results are completely benign we will mail you a postcard which takes longer, approximately two weeks because of delay in post office delivery.
